Gear Reviews for the Prepared
ReadyForWorst exists for one reason: to help you find gear that actually works when it matters. No fluff, no sponsored nonsense — just honest reviews from someone who uses this stuff.
Why I Started This
I got tired of reading gear reviews that were obviously paid promotions. You know the type — everything is "amazing" and "a must-have" with zero mention of actual flaws.
When you're building a kit for emergencies, hiking into the backcountry, or just want reliable everyday carry, you need to know what actually holds up. Not what some influencer got paid to say.
So I started testing gear myself. Breaking it, using it in bad weather, seeing what fails and what lasts. Then writing about it honestly.
What I Believe In
Simple principles that guide every review and recommendation.
Honest Testing
Every product gets real use. I don't just unbox things and give first impressions — I put gear through its paces before writing a word.
No BS Reviews
If something sucks, I'll tell you. If it's overpriced, you'll know. I'd rather lose an affiliate sale than recommend bad gear.
Actually Useful
Reviews include what matters: durability, value, real-world performance. Not spec sheets you could find anywhere else.
A Note on Affiliate Links
Yes, I use affiliate links. When you buy something through my links, I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps keep the site running and lets me buy more gear to test. But here's the thing: I'll never recommend something just because it pays well. My reputation matters more than a few bucks. If I link to something, it's because I genuinely think it's worth your money.
